STARBURST

DSCN5276
Things end up in a reef from god knows where.
This starfish, one of many, is presently footing it across an expanse of little light galaxies, a background created from a large anemone.
Click on this image to see the little star on the background, of a larger setting.
My girls brought me a pleasant surprise tonight, themselves, bearing birthday gifts.
They are all three amazing

Well if they brought birthday presents, then I deduce that I should say "Belated happy birthday wishes to you. Many you have many more filled with wonderful surprises ... and presents". :)

That picture is quite the gift to all of us. I'm almost sorry to see it context because I so much like its mystery and wonder. But no matter, it's a fine and fascinating photo.

Happy birthdayyyyyyyyyy
Happy birthday to you.

:)

What a treat to find the starfish - although, not if it will upset the ecosystem ...? That makes for a really eye-catching shot against the anemone.

AndiF,
The girls were a day early, so your wishes are right on time.
Sorry about the context.

Olivia,
Thanks for the singing wish.
No it will not upset anything.
I have hundreds of them.
I do have another pest that I`ll be treating, by getting Peppermint Shrimp to eat them.
Aptasia, an exotic sounding name for a girlfriend, but commonly called Glass Anemone.

The starfish are really a harmless bunch, but can also be controlled with Harlequin Shrimp, which feed exclusively on them.
These shrimp are so beautiful though, & I`d hate to have them come in & eat all the starfish then starve to death once they`re done.
The Peppermint shrimp don`t need the Aptasia to survive, so I don`t have any qualms about using them.
Luckily, one of my clients gave me $400.00 in gift cards to Vivid Aquarium, so I can go splurge.
