ORCHESTRA LEADER
For those of you who saw my test shots for this same vantage point, here are ones I shot tonight.
The usual links are unchanged, as I`ve been quite occupied of late.
Please bear with me, though.
I`ll be back to full capacity soon, I hope.
Meanwhile, stay balanced poised & smiling,.. please.

What an amazing shot. And Head, it doesn't matter how few or how many pics you post, we're always well rewarded.
What Andi said -- it's always a pleasure to view your work, be it one photo or a 100. :)
This one is stunning. Your trials obviously paid off! Gorgeous colours. And orchestra leader is the perfect title. Can imagine the flurry of notes that this little guy would lead ... Flight of the Bumblebee wouldn't touch it, I bet! ;-)
Thank you Andif,
That`s very nice of you.
Pretty soon I`ll show you all what I`ve been doing lately.
I thought of it today as creating a new world to photograph.
olivia,
"This one is stunning".
You should see the ones that are out of focus.
To shoot these, I pre-focus on a spot that I know they will be at. Since they approach from behind the feeder, I pull back a few inches from the window I`m shooting from, focus, then move into the window till I`m against the glass. Now I`m focused a little beyond the feeder. The hummingbirds flit in & inspect me, fly sideways , hover directly in front of me, but either too close or too far from the focus.
I should use the D2H which I have again, but because I`m shooting at dusk, I`d need to set up my remote flash.
I can`t understand why they couldn`t have had a built in flash for that camera.
