The drama that unfolds in a reef is never ending. Beyond this image #3, are three more (#1 thru 4), that show a hermit in trouble & vulnerable to predation. There are also many more different hermits in various locations throughout the reef. I have no idea how many I have in my reefs but they are everywhere.
In the header, a lizard that was brought by my place today, by someone who found it on their roof. I suggested to put it back where they found it as it was probably living free to begin with. Over on Planet Earth, the strange bedfellows one meets in a reef always amazes. I think Pippi & Blenny are going steady. The Red Spotted Blenny is always making me laugh as it charges ahead of me & is always perched right in my face when I least expect him/her to be there.
A few quick ones to add also.
Hunger Happens is from a friend I`ve worked with for years helping out the National Food Bank.
The plains Indian using a white cloth to misdirect the antelope to get a better shot at one to feed & clothe his tribe.
The Holmes comet, not pictured on this post, is readily seen in the night sky. It has become an explosive burst of icy vapor that one may never see again. It is unpredictable & should be visible for the next couple of weeks. I just walked outside & could easily spot it. I`ll try & get more info on it by tomorrow.

I'm sorry I missed the big homecoming (and that was a spectacular fish you had announce it) but hey, this way I get to be the first one in this post to say it.
Just having you gone for a short while made me realize just how much I look forward to seeing the amazing photos and reading wonderful writing you give us.

Yes, it seems nicer to enjoy something when it`s accompanied with great music. I`m glad you figured out how to access the archives of dada`s show. It`s also nice to know that others have concurred with my appreciation of the choice of music presented for us by one of our own, the inimitable dada. Yes, these tubes are amazing.

Have you seen the comet yet?
I keep trying to find the comet here in rural NH, but am not sure I've seen it yet. I'll keep trying!
Didn't know where to look yet, but it seems the Holmes Comet is near Perseus.
I'm more familiar with Andromeda. So then, facing North, Perseus should be off to the right of the last star visible in the arc of those in Andromeda, a distance similar to the space between A's stars. Right?

It is overcast here for the rest of the day, so I won`t be seeing it. Last night, I just walked out, looked up, & could see it without knowing exactly where to look. I went & got my binos for a better view.

Beth, It will look like a dim fuzzy cotton ball. It does not look like a typical comet with a tail, although one may develop later in the next weeks. I don`t think anyone knows.
Thanks Tony - I'll keep wandering outside as the evening progresses, and watch for it. I have a fuzzy afghan to keep me warm...and some of far's rum...and I really do want to see it. I won't have much luck from my back yard in Florida.

Wouldn't some of your critters view noses and fingers as a tasty snack? Nope, no electric blanket, though I keep threatening to buy one and leave it here. My Florida constitution doesn't do well in these frigid northeast temperatures (then again, neither did my Idaho constitution - I'm a wuss). My brother-in-law has a fire going, and I'm heading for the hot tub, so I should be toasty the rest of the evening. Although I won't abandon KH! :-)

I found the Holmes Comet!!It was visible with naked eye and better yet with the 7x50 binocs.
From Cassiopea (at least for me here in ND) it's about a a third of the the way, pretty much staight down, to the horizon, following along the Milky Way.
Once I saw it, I recalled seeing a fuzz ball there in late summer? ll and wondering at that time what it was.
Now I've got to go see that date when it was first spotted.
