MANDARIN FRUIT
GREEN STRIPED MANDARIN
My most important challenge was the transfer of my charges with the least amount of stress to them. To demonstrate the success of this endeavor, I am posting this image of the most sensitive & fragile species in the collection. This fish does not eat any prepared foods, but survives only on live miniscule/microscopic life in a well established tank. It was a pleasure to see this fish hunting down food bugs after a few days in hiding. It is doing just great. It`s a barometer of the health of the tank in a way. In the header, a reflection of a reflection. Since I changed the tanks during the move, this grouping of species went from a cube tank to a long rectangular tank. At one end, I installed a mirror to double the look of the tank. In this image it is again doubled & reversed to get a header format image. On Planet Earth, Pippi Longstocking, showing a little leg, is about to step into a green day.
These images taken during constant monitoring of my reefs are a reminder of the relief I felt, each time a new species would pop out for a "head" count.
I`m glad to be back among friends & family. I did feel alone in my world, something that is not always a bad thing. I hope I find you all in better health than when I left, & if that is the case, hooray for all of you. If it gets worse, down the line, advise me & I`ll leave again. Hah. Have a nice week end & remember those who have fallen, for better or for worse.

Welcome back Head. Missed ya ... :)
I do love the colours of this fish and his pouty fish lips on display here.
Excellent to read that things went well w/ the move and that the fish are all stable. I hope you're doing well too!
Olivia,
It`s a huge relief that the fish move went so well. The birds move went very well also. They have a new aviary that Coconut seems to really enjoy. He is on my shoulder right now though. That`s his favorite spot, & mine too. He`s such a good friend to me.
I`m due for some rest pretty soon, but the animals must come first.
A farmer can`t rest till the cows are milked.
Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoopie! Yer back!
A few minutes ago I was just wondering outloud with Ms NDD about your return.
She said, I think it's supposed to be the 9th. And bye-cracky, here ya be!
I'm happy to hear that critters and humans are well.
Now off to delve further into what may be new here at white knuckles.
NDD,
Yes it`s great to be back.
I just was checking out your Wiley Coyote pix. Great ones. The young fearless one will be getting a little more wary as it grows though so you were quite lucky I`d say.
Ah, Knuck and Coconut are posting again, all's well with the world. I'm so glad the little fellows are doing so beautifully.
Nancy p ,
Thank you so much for a nice welcome back.
All`s well with my aquatic & avian world, so it ends well. Have a great week end.
Yeah, that was a surprise, as I've seen coyotes a few hundred yards off but never right up in the yard like that young one.
I'm suspecting that with him hunger may have trumpted fear, as he was rather gaunt compared to the other one.
Enjoyed your newly posted shots at the header and planet earth. (btw no photo shows under "planet earth" on the main page, but the link to flickr works.)
It's great to have you back! The creature you're offering today makes me think you're back with a vengeance. This guy's truly a work of art!
I've been listening to KGNU thanks to the link you sent me. It's amazing all the work you can get done when you have great music to give you the energy you need.
Thanks, KH. I hope you find the time to sit back a little and just enjoy the beauty you like to share.
Evangeline,
Thanks, It is nice to be back. Now I feel ike I need a vacation. Tonight`s music by dada, was actually the best music selection I `ve heard in a long time. I`m sure he`ll appreciate your enjoying it.
Welcome back, 'head. Glad you and your watery friends are back online. I've missed your pictures, and your insights. Hope you have a relaxing weekend.
yo!....glad to see you and your finned and feathered friends again.
l can imagine how daunting moving those reef tanks was...hope you've got an opportunity to kick back and rest a bit and come up for a 'head' count as well.
thanks for the props on the show, it was in honour of your return...and thank you evangeline, for your kind words....l'm very pleased that you enjoyed it
peace.
Dada: My only disappointment was knowing you wouldn’t be back on air until 2008! Here I was gearing up to making your show a habit on a Friday night. And then this morning, I was fooling around on the Blues Legacy page and I found myself listening to your show once again – even the hour I missed due to the return to EST! Yes, life is good!
Evangeline,
It`s like the twins born last week. The older one was born after the first one was born. The first one born at 11:45 was followed by the time change at 12:00. The next one was born at 11:15 making the youngest oldest. The example happened although the time & place are fictional. I`m glad you took the inititiative to find the hour you missed.
HI, Beth,
Thanks for the welcome back. I hope to follow your suggestion on a relaxing week end.
dada,
Your show was an excellent mix of music. It followed my taste for the blues perfectly.
Sorry to hear there will be no more this year.
KHead!!! How have I missed out on reading your blog for 5 months? I didn't even know you had one. I must live in a cave! (I'm assuming that since July is the oldest month in your archives, that must be when you started). Of course, in my own defense, July was when everything was teetering on change here at our place.
Anyway, your blog is amazing!!! So many of your wonderful photos! I'm going to take my time and go through the archives to get caught up.
This is exciting!!
p.s. Thanks, Olivia, for the link to KHead's blog.
Puget4,
Well Hello, I had invited you to come by my place but never realized you may not have received the invite. I now remember your move & relocation. I just finished going through the same thing myself.
In any case, I`m very happy to see you at my place & you are definitly always welcome. Enjoy the archives.
Isn`t it funny that everything usually links back to Olivia. For your future pleasure, the header & Planet Earth are clickable to more images on a daily basis but do not reflect that in the archives. If you click on a post image, it takes you to Flickr, & if you locate Knuckleheads sets & open that, you`ll get dozens of albums. I just found that out from somebody else, so I hope you see the same info from your house.
Well, I'm an idiot. I just found the link to your site which I had made months ago and it had slipped below the horizon of my favorites list.
Aarrrrrgh!!
I'm glad your move went well. Mercy, and I though WE had a rough move. No contest. How is the spirit in your new home? Everyone and everything at ease and at peace?
Puget4,
There you have it. I was sure I hadn`t failed to invite you. Everything is coming around to where I feel I`m starting to live here. It`s funny that I haven`t been out & about the area yet. I know the place very well, as I only moved about 4 miles away, & I`ve had many friends on this very street. It`s a very nice change & my animals love the place.
dada has a show??? I feel like puget4 slapping her forehead because she didn't know about this blog, or somehow lost it.
Welcome back Head. Really glad your move went smoothly and hoping you're getting settled in and will have some time to slack.
Nancy P,
I should have thought to ask dada if I could put a link in here for everybody. I`ll let him do that if he wants to. It was a teriffic 3 hour program. He`ll be back on the air the second Fri. of Jan. 08.
I`ll make sure you get linked to that one.
Hey FM,
Thanks for the welcome.
I hope to get some slacking in this year, that`s for sure.
I didn't know about Dada's show either. What are we NOT doing, NancyP? Is all this cool info being passed on Booman Cafe? I haven't read there for ages and ages.
ah ha....head's just given me an open invitation for shameless self promotion...l ain't proud
kgnu - blues legacy: the blues with downtown
scroll down to nov 9, click the "listen" icon...enjoy "the blues", low down, hard core, and cathartic…enjoy!
[shows are archived on the site for 2 weeks...also highly recommend dave mac's show...a good bud, and very similar musical selection.]
peace
dada,
There you go, that`s what 'here' is for.
Puget, I didn`t read it or find out from BooMan`s, but it may have been linked there also.
Greetings my dear brother.
I've been watching every day. Just checked during a lull in the action at work and there you are!!So glad you're okay as well as your entourage.
While you were gone I found your slide show and viewed every image! Wonderful!
It's good to read all the discussions going on. I'll be consulting with our Evangeline re listening to those blues; I need the instructions explained, sigh...
So good that you're on the air again.
Love, Gypsygirl/not Andie(since anything that is directed to Andi f, I think it's to me. Is it ok to change names midstream?
19 days to go!
Gypsiegirl,
Yes & as a matter of fact you already did if I`m not mistaken. I wish I could have explained my "collections" or "sets" to you before you went through hundreds of images. Less than three weeks & you`re a freebird, eh? Good one, while here I`m just starting a new time. I think if you email Evangeline, she could set you up with the music we`re talking about. Apparently she`s gone to the archives which I understand are available for two weeks beyond air-time. She has already done that & may know better, how to access them.
How`s the blood lab doing antway? Are you still working in that specialty field?
Yes, crossmatching blood for transfusions. It's Saturday night, party time and the blood will flow. Enter the Blood Bank technologist, ready to replace the spills. Trauma is what I'm best at. When the OR docs phone after a rough one to say that the patient lives to boogie again, well i'm thrilled. That, I will miss. But what I'm going to, the photography and the writing, bring it on.
I will re-read what you said to puget4 about accessing past posts.
Hey KH,
I received an email from LandSailor this evening. He's been trying to contact you. He's in Texas, close to the Mexican border. I sent him a few words and told him that you had moved and were now online as of last night. You should be hearing from him soon.
Thanks for the date of Dada's next show. I've already jotted it down in my agenda.
Dada: If you had an audience of 23 last night, you should actually reach 30 in January. Some people just don't know what they're missing!
Peace, indeed.
“I`m glad you took the inititiative to find the hour you missed...”
I must say that I don't even know how I was able to do this. It was the first time I used ITunes. But not the last, I can assure you!
I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but I actually tried to find a way to copy the show so I could listen to it whenever the spirit moved me. I guess I'm just not as computer savy as I thought I was. Or patient enough.
Hey, puget4, it's nice to have a friend who's also out of it!
Thanks, dada!!
Hi AndiF aka Gypsygirl. It sounds like you are retiring? Am I correct? If so, yippee ki-o and hip hip hooray!
See, here's another piece of good news I missed out on. Woe is me...
Puget4
I think Andie is Gypsygirl, to prevent the mistaken indentification with Andif.
And yes I do believe she is retireing shortly.
Oh mercy! Sorry. Hello Andie (not to be confused with AndiF) and congrats on your upcoming (18 days?) retirement!!
