Room With A View

DSCN4217
This is the view from my house now.
On Planet Earth is a shot from inside my office, which doesn`t really show much, but the other shots are from on the deck & reflect the exact same view. It`s a humble little spot with a view of the sunset. What else does one need. I also hear the crash of the surf which is just past the treeline. The images that look like a fire is approaching really show a fog bank rolling in off the ocean.
Have a nice week ahead everyone & be carefull out there.
Remember those who were left on the battlefield, & never, ever forget those who send them.

Yes indeed!

It looks to me like you'll not be lacking in evening entertainment of the panoramic variety at the new location.

Monday Sunset is my favorite, especially as I know it can be very difficult to catch that fleeting moment when the clouds are lit in orange from horizon to overhead. And this one definitely has that 3D effect all the way to the horizon.

The cosmos didn't take long to welcome you, that's for sure.

NDD,
The cosmos is our friend.
Yes you are right about the fleeting moments in a sunset. I`ll have to go revisit "Monday Sunset".

Beautiful set of shots.

You have quite the view. That eye-filling, expansive sky is the one thing I miss here in the woods so I'm really appreciative of getting to "watch" your sky.

That's a beautiful shot. Is that a jetstream or shooting star at the top? Perhaps just a reflection?

I love the feel of your new spot, head. Thanks for sharing the gorgeous sunset. I can almost hear the surf.

Boran 2,
It`s a jet contrail, but I always fantasize about where it`s going or that I`m somewhere else in the universe & it`s a comet, or lightspeed breaking interstellar cruise ship. I always find it amazing that with our eyes we can see stars that are so far away, the light we see is from millions of years in the past.

Andif,
I`ll shoot the sunrise as soon as possible, for all our pleasure.

Beth,
Thanks, it takes getting used to the change.

Hi Tony,
Beautiful front yard you have there!
I read your last line a few times,'never, ever forget those who send them'; you are bang on.

Andie, That`s the back yard. The sunrise is in the front.

Hi Head.

I wandered over here from my b looking for the chocolate bunny ... :)

Beautiful view. Breathtaking here, can't imagine the 'live' version.

on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month…

in flanders fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, saw dawn, felt sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up your quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Olivia,
That was my mistake. You`ll have to wait for "Easter".
Tonight, due to the new view direction, I was surprised by the "nail clipping" moon, falling into the ocean. A beautiful sight, as it was just after sunset & the crescent was glowing orange. I`ll be ready for it tomorrow. Then I went out front to view the comet. Very interesting times.
I also noticed in your Aster, all the little "Peeps" in the center. Hah

dada, That poem has been in my mind since a very early age. My mom told it to me when I was just a child & I never forgot. I collected donations in school drives for Rememberance day with a box of Poppy pins for donors. And it still is as impressive now reading it again tonight. I read it last night also. It`s a very moving poem, & strange how it came to be connected with today.
