LEMON CAKE

DSCN5853 copy
These yellow pinwheels are in the front garden. There are dozens of these. The cover shot on Planet Earth are very nice little belles. I don`t know what the names are for any of these flowers but they are colorful.
Also on Planet Earth there are some shots of my Buckminster Fuller cactus in bloom & a red succulent with a fly on it. I don`t know if it`s on the surface towards the viewer or if it is a shadow seen through the translucent leaf.
You decide.
Have a nice day of warmth if possible & I hope the people are safe in the fires in the southern states.
My birthday was yesterday so that`s over with. I`m full from a few cakes I got, & a huge bag of dried blueberries from Washington state.
I still have plenty of the berries left.

Happy Birthday! And thanks for celebrating it by giving all of us such lovely gifts.

No warmth for us (it's 11) and there's a winter storm warning (snow, sleet, freezing rain). But I'm still warmed by the your glimpse of spring.

Hippo Birdie a day late, head! Glad you had cake - hope you enjoyed celebrating being another day older (just calling it something different). Toasting you with toast this chilly am. Sorry it's not toasty where you are, andi.

Hi KH!

Thanks for the color this morning. I always wanted a pincushion like that. I think I'll go out to get one the next time I brave the shops.

Who sent you the blueberries? Was it because you're a “bleuet”?

Whoa! I need that burst of sunshine! So, I guess, no whoa.

No whoa and no woe to you for all of this fresh new year.

Thank you Andif,
Springing to the occasion, & trying to spread the warmth.

Hi Beth,
Thanks for the Hippo wishes.

Evangeline,
They`re from Washington state, from Teri`s folks.
From what I was told yesterday when talking to them, they also call the locals there, the same, only in English.
One must realize there`s only one kind of "bleuet".
