my my what a soulfull expression on the Panther Elephant 1. Don't believe I've seen him here before.

Remind me not to put my fingers into the eel's tank.

The Panther grouper is cruising over an Elephant or Giant Cup coral.
I only had it for a short while. It was a rescue I took in, temporarily, until I could find a much larger tank for it. It will grow up to be over two feet in length. Sometimes I get calls to rescue fish & take them unconditionally, knowing that in my circle of connections, in this marine hobby, I`ll be able to find a good healthy home for just about any species.
I did lose the eel though. I still feel horrible about it, even though it was an unpredictable convergence of, never to even be anticipated, circumstances.

too bad about the eel, he looked pretty lively in the photo, but sometimes life just throws a curve ball and it's strike three.

I'm in the city until Monday evening, so I'm enjoying highspeed int for a while.

Great shots as usual KH.

It actually feels like summer here today. What a shocker!

NDD,
The eel was an absolute beauty.
It`s a Reverse Goldentail.
Normally, it would have the colors reversed & be mostly dark with slight yellow streaks.
For the proper health in my reefs, I mix up a caustic solution (Kalkwasser) or lime water.
After 24 hours this mixture separates into 3 layers.
(I`m simplifying)
I tap the middle layer, which consists of most of the volume, after separation, & add that water in a drip system into all my tanks, respectively.
Unbeknownst to me, the washing machine went berserk during a spin cycle & walked it`s way around the porch, all the while vibrating the separated layers back into solution. This is what I added to the reef that I kept the eel in. Luckily, this reef was on a different maintenance cycle than the three others, or I might have lost so much more.

I'm a little late to the post but then again, that's just a perfect image for a Monday morning.

Eelroy! I miss him, I do! I remember seeing some pretty fantastic photos of him.

What's the creature in 2282? The one with the snazzy stripe?

I was at the fish market yesterday and found myself checking out the lobsters in a huge aquarium. I couldn't help but think of your “guests”. Anyway, you've completely changed my view of aquatic life!

Hi Andif,
Yeah, Eelroy is a good start for the week.
I`ll be getting some Blenny stuff together tomorrow.
Have a nice week.

Evangeline,
I really miss him also.
2282, is a Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp.
If I put my arm in the tank, it`ll run around all over it, picking at me, & removing anything edible. (yuck)
I`ll post some pix of the cleaners in their natural setting rather than extreme close-up, to show them off better.
