FUMONGUS FUNGUS

DSCN0153
The other day on my cactus hunt, I drove by a tree I`d been by before.
A few years ago it had a huge fungus on it, which I shot.
I even entered it in one of the FotoFairs.
The other day, same tree, same fungus, but only fresh, & not the original one obviously.
I hope I haven`t already posted this new one.
I just took these shots last week, so I tend to doubt it.
There`s a series of them behind this one.
Enjoy, & have a nice day.

Nifty shot. I also liked the distance view in 2 DSCN0163. But all of them are really growing on me. ::checks:: Oops, my mistake. That's just a dog pestering me for breakfast.

Tomorrow's Friday Foto Flogging theme is Up.

That's wild! The colours are so bright ... wow.

Olivia,
That`s cause they`re fresh out of the oven.
It was a fortunate coincidence that I drove by that tree again & they had just presented within a day of my arrival.
Next year I hope to check it out on the same corresponding date, minus a few days & hope to film them form & grow.
How`s that for looking a 'head'.

AndiF,
I have a link to where I can find out how to cook them as they are edible, but I could never allow myself to pick them. To me they are like a coral growth.

Thanks for the theme, also. (wink)

That fungus shot compelled me to view the whole bunch in the large size. Pretty amazing the detail and colors that show up.

What I like about viewing other photographers' work is learning new perspectives. As I've seen interesting fungi here too, but it did not occur to me to do as close of a macro as you've done with these.

So thanks for the inspiration.

NDD,
As you may know, I shoot at anything & everything, while keeping in mind that depending on how you look at things, they may seem quite odd.
So I try to look at things oddly.
If it doesn`t turn out well, one can always say, "that`s odd".
