A sudden storm, that I had predicted would occur & including the possibility of waterspouts, came to pass three days later.
What a lovely surprise that I had a camera with me when it did happen.
Always have a camera with you. You never know when nature decides to strut it`s stuff.

Great shot Head. I need to start carrying my camera with me more.
This shot was published in The Malibu Times, shortly after this storm. I was jumping up & down, yelling at some of my workers to come & look at it.
I then remembered my camera, inside the field office, & mentally debated myself on, if I had time to run & get my camera, & risk it disappating, or get the camera, & have something to show anyone who wanted to listen, to my describing it.
I'm glad you got your camera. I don't think you explaining it would have had the same impact. :)
You`re almost right FM, but you`ve never heard me explain things I`ve experienced.
It sometimes takes a long time, but I usually can get details like the smells, in the air, the direction of the breeze, the time, the lightning strike, unseen by others, but proven, with the thunder rumbling through, a few moments later.
But that takes time, if you include the exclamatory waving of hands.
I save my explanations for when I have no access to the image.

I`m almost on overload at this point, but a walk with Coconut will get me over any burn.

Yeah, I second the motion, great shot! Nature is both amazing and very unpredictable.
So I agree on the advice of taking the camera everywhere. It's the only way not to miss those once in a lifetime type of shots.

I carry my cam w/ me everywhere too ... even though it's a little heftier than my old P&S, I'd be lost w/out it.

Thanks Nancy, He`s a back street boy but what a rambunctous character. I rescued him about 8 years ago. He does air-o-batics & is quite good at math.
Aren't waterspouts the coolest? That was one of the few things I liked about the weather when I lived in FL was catching these on special occasions. Nice thing is they rarely come on shore, so you can enjoy them from afar without too much fear, unlike our midwestern tornadoes.
Maybe I do need to keep the cam handier, but it's so easy to just go outside and find something around the garden... hehe, I'm a lazy bastad.
