THE END OF THE BEGINNING

_DSC0031
This is the first sunset of the new year. There are more images of tonight`s beauty in the slide show ongoing at the upper right.
On Planet Earth, a study in black & white with images I shot of a framed picture in the bathroom. Other shots on that place are from around the house.
If you need your fortune told, mention it in the comments.
I hope your new year is off to a great start & may you all be healthier, wealthier & wiser in time`s progression.
One more thing, be careful out there.

It's the beginning of the end of my vacation. So I can tell my own fortune -- being jealous of everybody who is retired.

Spectacular sunset.

Morning all.

LOL Andi.

Morning Head, Andi.

Gorgeous view Head. I think our good fortune is your new observatory.

Hope you all have a good day.

Morning KH. these sunsets, first of 2008 are simply wonderful. They remind me of the westward view sunsets we had in summer from our old house. In winter, sunsets are rare and we face east now.

Thanks for sharing.

I agree with Olivia. "I think our good fortune is your new observatory.

(I'm waiting to see what Nancy's fortune is before I commit to having mine read. (It's called being chicken)

Good morning to you Andif.
I share your vice, of envy.

Olivia,
I`m fortunate enough to be able to share my observations.

Nancy p,
The growing ghostly cloud of expectations about the future, should not be feared.
In this cloud are all the thoughts & ideas, the stories which you will remember & that bring back memories that will surprise you. In these surprises a new direction in your path will beckon. Follow this path, for ahead, the shadowy figures in the mist will reveal themselves to your third eye. How you will describe to others, the characters you therein perceive, will be convincing if you allow yourself to truthfully know those you wish to reveal at any given time. You have been pondering this new direction for some time now, and are seeking affirmation from others. An affirmation that will never come until you walk into the mist that beckons. It is the right way, and you know it. From where you go, your enthusiasm will be augmented by those who will wish to know more about those you`ve met, on that path, a path that only belongs to you.

Puget4,
Once you jump in, it`s not that cold.
That`s what someone says once they`ve jumped in, it`s freezing & they want to share their misery. You can`t be faulted for the trepidation, but remember every ones fortunes are different. Beware, or not.

I love it! Appropriately mysterious. Thank you kindly, Knuckle Seer.

as for fortune, l consider it my good fortune to have the honor of visiting your world through your eyes.

as for my fortune, l tend to not worry over it…though l will confess to wishing for warmer climes, w/ beaches and sunsets like those.

as for retirement, and just to give andi a wedgie, l'm there this year…going back to art and photography as a full time avocation, with the occassional consulting gig…if the project intrigues me.

what say ye, fortune teller?

dada,
Looks like that sneak peek into the crystal ball is all coming true for you. It is meant to be, even without the advantage of seeing the future.
One thing to beware of though, is finding too many "intriguing" projects. Those can sometimes morph into an unanticipated fiasco.
You may also find that one of those projects might lead to your wish for warmer climes. That I see as a distinct possibility.

With the winter sky, here in QC, I haven't seen such beauty in a long while. And yes, please tell me the (good?) fortune that awaits me! Is it the beginning of the end? Or the end of the beginning?

Dada: Is your show (Blues Legacy) still scheduled for January 11th?

Hi, KH. As always, I'm surfing late late at night, restless. The silence is past.

The sunsets are beautiful, beyond words. Makes me recall hiking above Berthod Pass in the Rockies, just to see the sun set in the West.

And if the crystal ball is still shining when you see this, I'd love a fortune be told.

Evangeline,
Although we tend to look at life as a circle or as a cycle of accumulating events that eventually lead back to from whence we came, seers look at life as much more than that. From the same premise, a circle, view your life as a sphere, where there is another dimension, one of space. Even though we may return to what we perceive as the beginning, from in this sphere we are on a different track. Imagine the sphere rolling around on an uneven surface, through the twists & turns of life, it wobbles & rolls, hesitates & speeds up, but never on the same path. As you move inside this sphere, you also influence it`s movement. Looking out over the landscape you may choose to roll one way or another, which sometimes may influence the movement to unpredictable speeds & over unforeseen twists. This might also bring you very close to where you were before, sometimes a very nice memory, but it may not be revisited again. As in a circle there is no end nor a beginning.
When this sphere bursts you will see the young girl running through the garden holding the little loop with spheres trailing behind. The bubble maker she holds, has entranced her. Her laughter is you.

Kidspeak,
Your restlessness, shows a positive need to explore, to understand, & an appreciation of the beauty you have sought out. You will forever be this way, as one who seeks shall never find. Your life is in the seeking. That is a beautiful life, for it will be filled with new sights & sounds. If you stop your restless quest, sadness will overcome you. We are not here to understand. We are here to try & do so. You, who have climbed peaks to see the glory of a setting sun, shall never be denied that beauty, as those who do not seek shall never see. Your life will be filled with found treasures, especially those you did not seek.
The silence will only be past unless you choose to revisit it, a thing that is not wrong, for at times, silence truly is golden. Like a setting sun.

NDD,
The stark lines of endless roads, the sunrises so far away.
Will be your gamble day to day,
Just like a soulless grifter.
The shuttered windows of see through homes
The machine ribs of metal bones
Death by shapeless shifter
The beauty that you live & see
Will never be witnessed by me
You, are the high plains drifter.

KH: I was left speechless – and then buoyed by your words.

Strangely enough, your thoughts bring to my mind a recurrent dream I had as a child. I spent many nights dragged round and round inside a dense and heavy sphere, while I sat terrified in the back seat, my eyes riveted to the back of the driver’s head. The sphere has since taken flight and though the speeds remain unpredictable, the twists unforeseeable, I’m content in the knowledge that the laughter you evoke is, was, will be mine.

Maybe the sphere was a fast Camaro on a trip to Ottawa/Hull. Circa 1980
It`s strange how I might perceive what I see as disconnected or unimportant, but I can never deviate from saying it truthfully. It`s not supposed to mean anything to me, only you.

KH: Absolutely, but you brought the link up somehow – 20 years before the Camaro adventure. The setting of the dream sphere was an old Chevrolet or Ford with a grey head in the driver's seat. Brrrrr...
