This is a Green Torch coral. I grow these beauties to trade with other reefers.
The Green Bubble coral linked to the post, is in full retraction. Within five minutes it can be fully opened up.
It must have loved the squid chunks I gave it for dinner.
Nancy P`s pier is still in the header, & on Planet Earth, a collection of what nots.
Have a nice week ahead try out your whistle. Pick a song & whistle. No it doesn`t really look stupid.
Does happy look ugly? Not.

Deciding what a favorite is, is sometimes difficult.
No matter if you do though, it seems, for myself personally, that I get very saddened by the loss of any one of them, favorite or not.
Sometimes the favorites are the ones that you "spoil" because of the special care they demand. That goes for fish as well as corals.

At the lagoon, on the ocean coast, the amount of life at low tide can range from huge starfish, thousands of crabs, octopus, anemones etc.
Then there`s the grunion runs.

I checked out what a “grunion” is: a silverside of the California coast notable for the regularity with which it comes inshore to spawn at nearly full moon. You should be able to catch them in the act.

That`s the only time you can catch them if the rules are followed. I think you can only catch them by hand.
So when you see a bunch of happy zombies heading towards the beach, each with a little pail in their hands & at night. It does look strange.
" The grunion are running, the grunion are running" is a strange phrase to hear. You might have an idea of some escaped grunion & even wonder if your children are safe. Are they violent.
It doesn`t happen at every full moon but at certain tides during the year. It`s quite a sight to see, & you can usually find out when it`s happening with a tide chart on a news bulletin. It is forbidden to make porno flicks of them mating on the sand.
Oh no, sorry that`s for those with bunions. crap sorry about that.
