CUP OF GOLD

 CUP OF GOLD DSCN8366
This is a newly discovered bloom in the front yard.
As you can see by the ferns next to it, it is a large flower.
This one should be part of the advance team, because now that I know they`re ready to bloom, I should have dozens to photograph, soon.
I have a tree that is about 10 feet tall, which should be covered in these gold blossoms.
I just took this in the black of night, &, like Puget4, lit it up preliminarily, with a small LED flashlight, to even focus.
Have a great life.

Right now my eyes are so full of the bird of paradise photo that I don't think I'll be able to really see this photo for a day or two. It's definitely an embarrassment of riches.

Hi Head!

How are you tonight? I've been having a look-see of your photos every day, but I've been in too much of a rush to tell you how much they blow me away. Tonight, I have a question about photo no DSCN8358. Is this a photo of a section of the bird-of-paradise? Whatever it is, it's amazing. Blue is rare in nature, no?

I'll never forget the day I saw a bird-of-paradise for the first time. It used to be that all you'd find in a florist's shop was roses or chysanthemums. And then came along a flower sporting a je-ne-sais-quoi from outer space: the bird-of-paradise.

Today, I'm not surprised they chose your backyard to spawn their beauty.

Take care.

Hi Evangeline,
I always thought blue was taboo, but every time I think there`s a rule, I find a bunch of exceptions to it.
I`ll post the same bird tonight but with an added set of wings.
And, yes, the image you cited is the reproductive area of the bird of paradise. It is a very strange flower & I remember seeing some different species of the same plant.

I'll be looking forward to that extra set of wings.

Different species of the bird-of-paradise? I can't imagine what these look like. I"ve always seen the same one.

BTW, I really enjoyed your fish photos a few days ago. It always amazes me how your friends (subjects) look AT you and your camera.

BTW, isn't it (wasn't it) Candice's birthday on the 3rd? If so, please tell her I send my best, okay?
