Here`s a new set of feathers on the bird. Some of the flowers seem to have only one set & others two, then three. I`ll keep an eye on this one. This is the exact same flower from the series of this past week, although I have dozens of them.
Evangeline, Candice`s birthday was May 1st. These birds of paradise are like weeds here in southern california. Some places have them 10 feet deep along the whole front of their properties. They don`t require much care at all. The same type of bloom is on giant plants 15 feet tall with a whiter flower of the same type only much much larger. I`ll go find some in the neighborhood to shoot. I think they flower a little later in the summer, but I`ll remember to keep an eye out for one.
Holy Moses! 15 feet tall? Much larger White flower? That I gotta see! And in case you forget to keep an eye out for one later in the summer, I'll remind you.
Falling water stopped in flight, then slowly flutters to alight. In doing so, it paints our place, our planet, seen in white, from space Slowly changes in seasons slow To browns then greens and flowered glow This strange liquid, a natural show, Is jeweled starlight we call snow

Wow! That has to be the most elaborate bird-of-paradise I've even seen!!
Thanks, Head!

Sleep tight – if you do.
Evangeline,
The base of the flower, which in the posted image is green, is a deep purple, on the large ones I`m talking about.
'tis very nice to see some colour blooming out somewhere in da vurld, here, so far, we have some dandelions... amidst a few green blades of grass.
Hi Head!
I really loved the earlier version (over at flickr) and this one is just as amazing!
Hi Head, Olivia, NDD!
NDD's dandelions and sparce grass sound a lot like what my window is offering me today – minus the dandelions. My lilacs are coming out, just anxious to be ripped out of the tree (along with half the branch) by the usual suspect: a MontrĂ©al passerby. One of these days, I think I'll spike my lilacs with a trap he (she) won't forget!
Meanwhile, have a nice day!
Hi there Evangeline!
Oh no -- someone is making off w/ your lilacs ... that's not fair! :-)
NDD,
Do you make Dandelion wine?
Olivia,
I noticed that at Flickr.
I`ll go see which one you`re comparing.
And thanks.
Evangeline,
Les hosti calis.
Lovely, really lovely, knucklehead. Like weeds? Really? Wow. I'd love that.
