This is the last image of these blooms in this series.
The background in this image is a piece of whiteboard I have handy when I want to isolate the subject.
The header image is of a carnivorous cactus that surprised me.
I had no idea what it was, but I had mentioned that Teri alerted me to it. There is an image of the pod that turns into a fly eating star, reminiscent of my underwater ones, attached to the header.
The cadaver flies are attracted to it`s scent of rotting flesh, then captured by it`s hairy grapples.
Attached to the main post image is a pair of Worts.

At first I thought you were talking about the "Last Hurrah" picture in conjunction with the words rotting flesh and hairy grapples. I just couldn't picture it with those flowers. Glad I was mistaken.
Now with the fly eating star, oh yeah, I can picture it. I would almost say with one or two shots you're getting into a little catcus porn there. Olivia will be proud. :)

Ya, it is almost pornographic.
The stench of flesh doesn`t help either.
I had handled the carnivore during shooting, & ended up with a bunch of those flies buzzing around me back in my office.
Did you know that when they are searching for a body, they know they`re close, when they see those flies.
Cadaver flies.
No I didn't know about Cadaver flies. I think they have a plant down on the coast called "The Century Plant" that smells like that. Supposedly when it blooms it's beautiful, but the smell is horrendous.
I forgot to mention earlier, on the "Last Hurrah" I like how you used that whiteboard for the background. It almost makes me think that you have the cactus in your living room.

That`s the point.
It`s like a portable studio.
It allows one to better control the subject`s surroundings.
Eliminating a parked vehicle or bright sunlight is easy with a piece of board.
I have black ones also, but at a momonts notice, I whip off my Tshirt & use that.
Those three in a row make a nice composition.
My question is; If the T-shirt isn't quite enough... do ya whip off anything else???
