SCARLET ARIA

 IN THE SPOTLIGHT DSCN7143
This Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp, is performing on stage in a tragic play on words.
I`ll let you click to browse on a collection of other images that includes other shrimp & a long sea slug.
At Planet Earth, a shy beauty from my central cactus garden, tries to hide in the dark. A few of the shots were taken with a flash. The others are taken with a small household flashlight. I might mention that all were taken while standing on the second to last step of a step-ladder.
Have a terrrrriffic day, & try to stay in the shade.

That brightened up an otherwise dreary Monday morning. Thanks.

That is one beautiful shrimp ... :)

How do you decide which photo to use on the blog from the full set-- they're all so amazing. I love the close up of the claw -- and the tramping flowers and cotton candy ... :D

Olivia,
It`s strange but even after seeing the images three or four times during sizing & moving them, I have no clue. What I do is open all the images, then quickly close them by "command W".
All the images close in succession only appearing for a brief second. As they flash by, one, always tells me.
It may not be the right one, but I don`t have all day. hah
Some in the show are better than the front page one in certain aspects but this is the one I was told to post according to my method.

Shrimp colored by a child whose fallen in love with stripes. . .and lost in dreams.

I loved the lights through the cactus petals, too - those slender stamens gathering around the pistil, as if waiting for sunrise.

Kidspeak,
That`s a wonderful description of the image.
Your`s are the words of a poet.
The flower, even though it is now gone, is but a preview, of a previously never seen number, of blooms that the little green buds will become. There are about two dozen on the cactus, & it looks like there will be multiple blooms at one time on that cactus group.
They open at dark, show their stuff till morning, then wilt, with the coming of the day.
