MALIBU KARMA

DSCN3485
These images are from earlier this morning. The power has been going off & on for hours, so I`ve had to be running around watching my reefs & trying to post. The winds have been the most extreme I have ever seen with gusts over 100 MPH. The fire is now burning homes in the Malibu Colony area, where many actors & monied people live. It`s just near where Suzanne Summers home burnt a few months ago. Hodge`s castle is burnt & is a total loss. On the other hand, what do you think happens when you beat your wife, burn your dog, Kill a protected snake (by me) & then have a yard sale. Karma strikes & does so, hard. Here`s what`s left of a yard sale. It`s called Karmic Debris.
Here at my compound, everything is fine 7 we are in no danger. I`ve been through many of these fires & respect them but am never afaid of them. Big difference. Have a nice day. Here, so far so good.

Tony,

Thanks for letting us know you're all okay! I saw these fires on the news today, and they look really bad -- esp Hodges castle and some homes that were fully engulfed.

I also heard the winds were really bad, and that was contributing to the spread and difficulty dealing w/ the fire.

karma ... yeah, karma ... oh man.

Olivia,
Thanks for your concern. We are fine here. Coconut thinks it`s time to play. He would be an indicator of danger, probably. I was up in the middle of the night because He woke me.
As far as Karma, I don`t doubt it.

karma indeed…a firm believer in it.

ditto to O's sentiment: glad you're all well; and if coconut says it's time tp play, well…ya gotta do it.

I'm with Olivia and dada. I'm glad your OK too and that everything is fine.

Believer in Karma too. BTW that looked to be one hell of a yard sale.

Hey dada,
Coconut rules. He keeps every other bird calm also.
Teri is a little freaked out but she`s been through some of these fires also, & we went for a little local drive around which mellowed her out.
She was laughing at how extensive the yard sale items were spread around. All the way down the street. The idiot`s signs posted illegally down on PCH, are all down & pose a deadly potential with these winds.

The term yard sale, I usually reserve to describe a skier who just took a terrible spinning cartwheeling tumble. His goggles are here, a ski over there a hat on aisle three & so on. That`s what I call a yard sale.

Head, glad to know you all are well. I didn't know where you lived, so will pay more attention to the fire stories now. Saw it on the news this am, right after the freak Denver snowstorm.

Keep us posted.

Yard sale - reminiscent of my ski bum days in Aspen. Karma will indeed bite you in the butt!

Hi Beth,
Skiing, I love it.
Favorite place to ski, so far, is Heavenly, in Lake Tahoe. You can ski from California into Nevada & gamble at the base of the slopes. Here where I live, I can go swimming in the ocean in the morning, drive an hour to ski for the day & drive back & go swimming again before dark.
We do have a few more days of concern ahead of us, but everything is fine now. The wind will be blasting till Tues. & the humidity is in single digits, so it`s Red Flag Alert till then.

I raced here to see if you and yours are okay. Thanks for letting us know.

Please keep us posted, head. It sounds like things are getting nasty out there.

I have a hat from Heavenly, but haven't skiied it. I'm envious of your "in the middle of everything" locale. Well, except for maybe tonight...

KH,
I just sent you an e-mail expressing concern and enquiring about your safety.
On second thought, I checked your blog posting which is reassuring.
I guess by now I should know better than to forget how you deal with such situations.
And I now know what a yard sale is.

I am so glad you are okay.

We had some straight-line wind here that was around 100mph a few years ago. It was terrifying.

And that is one scary photo.

Hi Knucklehead, I'm peeking in from lurk-mode hoping for some good news from you.

I hope everything's OK for you and everyone in your household.

They're saying that 250,000 people have been evacuated! That's incredible.

I'm hoping that the only thing wrong is that your power is out. We're all thinking of you and the rest of the Californians.

What Nancy said. Hoping all is well.

Hey KH,

I've been listening to the news about the Malibu wildfires most of the day on my computer and it doesn't sound very good at all. I hope you, Teri, Coconut and al. are okay. I'm anxious to hear from you - directly or through your blog and your fantastic photos.

Love to you all,

Evangeline

Joining the chorus of well-wishers and hoping that everything is okay.

I'm very much relieved to hear that you folks are safe.

So far my friends and family who live form Tustin to San Diego are fine.

The San Diego crew is off work as the witch fire has caused evacution of their work place.

My Tustin friend may not be able to make it to work either.

Take Care!

{{KNUCKLEHEAD}} Please find a computer with Internet access somewhere and tell us you're OK!

I know things HAVE to be crazy-horrible for you. But, your friends are worried.
